Whilst Transnet is focused on its belief, that on an operations front, they are committed towards improving economic efficiency, the Transnet Foundation is motivated towards utilising its resources to uplift communities in need. The people who are reside in the numerous disadvantaged communities throughout South Africa are the main recipients of the Transnet Foundations activities.
 
 Over the years, the Transnet Foundation has been fortunate enough to be involved in numerous health care initiatives, bringing messages and practices of good health and care to scores of individuals in communities throughout South Africa. However, the most successful and celebrated of these projects has been Phelophepa.
