 Transnet
SOC Ltd is seeking expressions of interest for the disposal of The Blue
Train luxury tourist train service. Transnet's strategic objective is to
ensure that it plays a significant role in the South African economy. To
achieve this, it is restructuring to focus on the provision of freight
rail, pipeline and port services to the bulk and manufacturing sectors
of the economy. Consequently, Transnet has identified certain businesses
within its portfolio, including The Blue Train, that it considers to be
non-core and has earmarked them for disposal.
